- Back-up your contacts.
- Visit Airtel Service Centre nearest to you with a valid National ID.
- Request for Airtel SIM upgrade.
- Submit your old SIM.
- Fill out the form giving.
- You will be issued a new 4G enabled SIM
- Insert the new SIM in your phone, restart and start enjoy.
Please note: To enjoy the Airtel 4G Network, you must be using a 4G enabled phone.

- Free 4GB Data: Once you upgrade to Airtel 4G, Airtel welcome you with a free 4GB data
- Double Data for 6 months: Once you upgrade your SIM, Airtel give you double data for all your recharge for the next 6 months. ie, if you recharge #1000 to get 1.5GB, Airtel gives you 3GB.
- Free 25% extra data: You get an extra 25% free “4G data” on all your data recharge. Meaning, if you recharge #1000 to get 1.5GB, excluding the double data, Airtel will still give you 25% of the whole data you subscribed for.
- Fast Internet: The 4G LTE is super fast and better than 3G Network. No wonder the recent Airtel Adverts 3G is good, 4G is better.
About Airtel Binge
Airtel Binge is a new daily data plan by Airtel Nigeria. This package is for heavy data users or customers that have the need of heavy data use just for a day.
With Airtel Binge plans, you can stream an online class, watch a video, download large files and any other activity that requires heavy data usage.
The plan comes in two packages for different data sizes. Airtel Binge 500 plan gives you 2GB while Airtel Binge 350 plan gives you 1GB.

The upgrade is free, however, some stores will require you to recharge the line immediately in other to activate it. So they say.

You don’t have a voters card, driving license, Passport or even NIN card? You need to verify you are the SIM owner and the ID is important considering the many ills committed on phone.

I think Government-issued ID card is compulsory. The lockdown is now eased and schools will soon resume, so maybe you wait till you get back to school.

Hi Lukmon, just take your sim to any Airtel outlet and they will do everything for you. You’ll be given a new sim card and free 4GB data for upgrading your sim. You only pay for the new sim which will be configured to your own line.
Good evening sir… I just did mine today …but what I was told is for me let my old sim to went off..before I insert the new sim given to…I did at about 9am this morning… So I can’t really tell what is happening
To upgrade your sim to 4G, your old SIM is collected from you and a new one issued. You are only advised to recharge the line.
