Quit Motivational Seminars, Do this instead

Are you the type that attends all the motivational seminars in and around your city?

What is your motive and what do you wish to achieve?

If you are looking for ideas to make money and all you can think of is to go and listen to a motivational speaker, my dear, you need to have a rethink.

I saw this funny line on Facebook shared by a friend and probably written by one of the motivational speakers;

“I made 2million naira in one week. How did I do it? Very simple. IF YOU CAN THINK IT, YOU CAN DO IT”.

Does that sound reasonable to you?

My friend, hear me; run away from any motivational speaker who is not ready to show you the step by step of how it can be done.

quit motivational seminars

If you pay anyone to listen to stuffs like the quote shared above, without a guide on how to it is done, I promise, you’ll remain where you are or even more confused than you were.

Over the weekend, I attended a Facebook organized seminar in my city and anchored by Chukwuma Ephraim Okenwa, CEO.

It was a wonderful experience, though I was a bit informed with most of the business strategies shared and the app usage, I still learnt a lot and understood a few more difference between Facebook and Instagram and which of the platform will convert better for any type of business.

Why did I attend the seminar? To learn new ideas and secrets to better use the social media app to market my personal business as well as my clients.

You need to align yourself towards acquiring knowledge that will impact you positively and not just to get you inspired.

Have you noticed that most times when you’re in a seminar to listen to motivational speakers, you’re so elated and saying to yourself, yes I can do anything but immediately you leave the venue, you’re back to square one. You start asking yourself, what was the speaker’s main point? What exactly am I going to start doing now? How do I start?

It’s simple, he taught you nothing.

Gone are the days when you need just the TALKS, switch to where you can LEARN HOW it is done.

An ordinary whatsapp group that you belong for free that teach you something can be more valuable than spending your money to go and listen to a motivational speaker trying to ginger you alone without showing how to do anything.

You need to change your mindset.

Remember that there is no way you continue doing the same thing over and over and expect different result.

You have been attending these motivational sections but you’re still stagnated, it shows that hearing alone does not produce result, and for you to act/do, you must know how it is done.

If you still don’t have anything doing, what you need is a skill acquisition program where you can learn something of interest rather than motivational seminars.

Recently, my pastor in church reminded young people who graduated at least 5 years ago and still with no job and still hoping to get one that their certificate acquired from a Nigerian university was almost “expired” according to a recent study. The study asserts that most employers require fresh graduate within a certain age gap.

Most times you will be left with marketing jobs if you have the connection or you’ll be selling insurance and paid as per the number of new clients you are able to introduce to your employer.

All these can change if you are ready to take the bold step to acquire a new skill or develop your God given talent.

Align yourself with people that think great things and not afraid to try. Dissociate yourself from negative minded individuals who will tell you it is not possible, who will narrate to you how Mr A or Mrs B tried the same thing and failed.

First be convinced of what you WANT, secondly, go LEARN how it is done, finally, START doing it no matter how little you can.

As I drop my pen, I leave you with the words of B.B. King, “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you”.

Always remember that skill or knowledge acquired cannot be taken away from you.

To your success.
