Simple Steps You Can Follow To Move From A Consumer To A Producer
One of the best steps you can ever take to turn your life around is to make a mind shift and rebuild your paradigm. A mind shift is your ultimate portal to jumpstart a new level of financial consciousness.
You’ll hear the same from every successful entrepreneur alive. And speaking of a shift, one of the biggest is a transition from a consumer to a producer. While the ways to move from a consumer to a producer may not be at all easy, many people out there have never even had the thought of such a change.
But you’re an exception. And my instincts say that you have the got to learn how to not be a consumer any longer. Exactly why I have taken the pain to take you through the transformation in 5 bold steps.
Step 1: Think Like A Producer
If you’ve been reading any of the famous books written by the bestselling authors in the world of finance, there’s one thing you’re probably growing tired of hearing. And that one thing is THINK. God, even Napoleon Hill’s famous book is titled “Think” And Grow Rich. But that’s just the most important aspect at the bottom line of the entire process.
Other than being the couch potato who eats fast food all day whilst playing computer games, you need to learn how to think like a producer. Though you can’t possibly be 100% a producer, even Jeff Bezos consumes stuff. But by changing your thinking, you can become more productive, solve problems, and become a lifesaver to hundreds of people across the globe. And did I mention that you get to live your true purpose?
And as the saying goes as a man thinketh so he is, you become what you think 80% of the time. To adopt the producer’s mentality, here are some things you should do.
- Believe that your job is to be a producer
- Dream about your happy ending every day
- Start your day with a mantra about your goals
- Create and follow routines to develop a monk-like discipline
Step 2: Be An Action-Taker
Other than evaluating the consumer vs producer mindset and sticking to thinking like the latter, taking action is very important. In fact, thinking it without doing it is as good as not thinking it at all. So what’s the catch? Quit the pipedreams. As you dream big, do big. I mean, take actions that help to focus on fleshing out your ideas and breathing life into your projects.
While taking bold steps may not be easy at first, I recommend breaking down your goals into simple tiny bits of steps just like I have broken down this article into 5 sweet parts.
The hype around shooting for the stars and shaking the world is a deterrent for most entrepreneurs. Torn down the volume and don’t let things get complicated.
- If you want to write a book, start with an article
- If you want to make a movie, start with the first page of your script
- If you want to join the football team, start with playing with the kids
Start from your comfort zone and stretch out little by little at your own pace.
Step 3: Study A Lot And Listen A Lot
Every individual has a producer genius lying dormant ready to be tapped into in them. And that genius speaks only when you listen and stop the continuous chattering in your mind.
Besides, you can only learn new things by listening and studying. And as the saying goes, there’s no knowledge that is not power.
In my own opinion, the best way to learn is from books. But this is not a rule that is set in stone. You have to find the way that you’re most convenient with and the easiest and most effective learning way for you.
- Invest in psychological books
- Subscribe to podcasts that support your goals
- Enroll in online courses and learn new things
- Meet successful people around you
- Attend webinars and workshop
- Surround yourself with people that inspire you
- Change your environment if you need to
- YouTube channels save lives
- Task yourself to study through a particular timeframe every day
Step 4: Practice Awareness And Question Everything
According to the all-time genius and scientist, Albert Einstein, the greatest creativity is the power of imagination. In order to be productive, you need to be creative. While being creative and imaginative are both powers shared among every individual on the planet, yours is uniquely different from the next-door neighbor’s.
In order to tap into your creative power and broaden your imagination beyond playing games and eating pizza, meditate, and practice mindfulness. Question your actions and your decisions. Strive to find an answer to the question who am I? And be determined never to stop even when after finding an answer because you’re limitless.
To practice awareness, here are some actionable:
- Start and end your day with meditation
- Exercise every day; get a yoga club membership or go to the gym house
- Pay attention to your actions and decisions
- Before you buy, ask yourself “do I really need this?”
Step 5: Make A Strategic Plan And Be Consistent
After deciding on what you want, the final step is to create a strategic plan and working through it. This is almost the same with the be an action taker shared in step 2. The difference is that, here, you’ve arrived at your main purpose and not just how to be a producer.
In your strategic plan, define how you want to achieve your purpose. Don’t ask when because now is always the best time to start working on your dreams. Finally, make a breakdown of everything, seek supports and advice, and consistently work on becoming you.
Rounding up
According to a saying, the greatest purpose is to be of service to others. And the highest service is the service rendered to humanity.
